Don't miss the beautiful display of mosaics by local artist Judy Steed. The display runs through Monday, June 9 and can be viewed upstairs in the Library.
Judy has been sharing her mosaic work with the Library for over 15 years and always supports various charities by donating proceeds from her shows. This year, she is donating 100% of the proceeds from sales of her pieces. She will divide them between Doctors Without Borders and the Good Memories Choir for people in the early stages of dementia. Please email Judy (judysteed51@hotmail.com) if you are interested in purchasing a piece.
About the artist
Judy has been sharing her mosaic work with the Library for over 15 years and always supports various charities by donating proceeds from her shows. This year, she is donating 100% of the proceeds from sales of her pieces. She will divide them between Doctors Without Borders and the Good Memories Choir for people in the early stages of dementia. If you are interested in purchasing a piece from the display, please email Judy directly (judysteed51@hotmail.com). She also welcomes commissions.
Judy’s work is very diverse. She likes to “see how the spirit moves her and be open to that direction.” Much of her inspiration has come from her many travels, including to Spain, Japan, and New Zealand. Judy is also married to an artist, which she says is a gift, as they encourage and appreciate each other’s work. Her daughter is also an artist and an art therapist.
Steed is a member of the ASA (American Society of Artists), SAMA (the Society of American Mosaic Artists), and the American Craft Council. She is a River Forest resident and has a studio in her home.
