Roosevelt Middle School Students Showcase Creativity in November Art Display

Visit our Local Spotlight upstairs to experience the vibrant and imaginative artwork created by Roosevelt Middle School’s 5th and 7th grade students. The display will be up through the end of November.

5th Graders: Exploring the Concept of Line

The 5th graders, under the guidance of teacher Brenda Latzke, explored the concept of line through a variety of creative activities. They experimented with printmaking to create bold, textured designs, practiced drawing intricate henna-inspired patterns, and designed personalized name tags that showcase different types of lines.

Through these projects, they discovered how lines can express movement, shape, and individuality in art.

7th Graders: Observing Light and Shadow

The 7th graders, under the guidance of teacher Lindsay Johnson, created detailed value drawings based on still life compositions set up in the classroom. They learned how to observe light and shadow carefully, using shading techniques to show depth and form.

Through this process, students developed stronger drawing skills and a deeper understanding of how value brings realism to artwork.

Art featuring gourds and fall plants

Together, these works highlight the artistic growth and expressive talents of Roosevelt Middle School students. We invite you to explore their creativity and be inspired!
