Local artist Jenny Kelly shares her Rain Series in Local Spotlight Display

Head upstairs to view the stunning art by River Forest resident and artist Jenny Kelly, which will be on display throughout the month of April.

From the artist: “My latest series, rain, views the world through a more complex lens. It’s where the realism I’m innately comfortable with becomes distorted, pushing my work to a different, slightly more uncomfortable space.

Life can be messy, much like a rainy day, but when we bring ourselves to focus on each raindrop, or small joy, that’s when we see the beauty in the moment.”

About the Artist

Jenny is a self-taught artist who works exclusively with oils on canvas. She started drawing and painting as a young child and it has remained a passion ever since. She is most drawn to is the beauty in the everyday, especially in cities where life is always interesting and changing, sometimes chaotic. She finds inspiration in the shadows, sunlight, angles, reflections and people moving about their days in urban settings.

In addition to her life as an artist, Jenny is a mom to three teenagers and two black labs, a wife of 21 years, a community volunteer/activist, and a pediatric oncology nurse. All those titles keep her busy and fulfilled but it's her art that fuels her soul and provides tranquility.

Visit Jenny at Our Artisan Fair on Saturday, April 18, 10 AM-2 PM

At the fair, Jenny will have note cards and prints of her original artwork for sale.
