Saturday, 2/21, 2-3:30 PM, The Black Chicago Renaissance

Celebrate Black History Month with this presentation by Africana Studies scholar Dr. Amira Millicent Davis. Learn about the development of the cultural renaissance that flourished among Black artists, writers, and musicians in Chicago in the early 20th century. New York's Harlem Renaissance may be more well-known, but the Black Chicago Renaissance was an important movement in its own right. Brought to you in partnership with River Forest Township.
