Celebrate National Library Week, April 19-25

Happy National Library Week!

This year’s theme is Find Your Joy—and there’s no better place to do that than your library.

Find your joy by visiting us this week (or anytime!). Attend a program, explore our collections, check out something from our Library of Things, or simply relax in our beautiful building or garden.

Special Celebration!

Stop by on Wednesday, April 22, or Thursday, April 23, when we’ll have our Prize Wheel out and ready to spin. To participate, just share the title of a book that brought you joy or was unputdownable. Then spin the wheel for a prize—while supplies last, including sweet treats from River Forest Chocolates!

Come celebrate, connect, and find your joy at the library.

Find Your Joy!

Summer (and fall, and winter, and spring) is a great time to read for fun!

Reading what you like isn’t just enjoyable, it’s healthy – pleasure reading reduces stress, develops empathy, supports creativity, and can even help you live longer.

Healthy reading tips from your local Library -

  • Read what you LOVE with no judgment. Library users often worry they’re not reading the right things – if you love it, read it.

  • Listening to audiobooks counts as reading.

  • Unless it’s for school, you’re not required to finish a book.

  • Graphic novels are excellent tools to encourage kids and teens to read.

  • Yes adults, you can choose books from the Teen section (we do it too!)

  • Don’t know what you like? We'll help you find it!
