Board of Trustees Accepting Applications for Vacancy

The Board of Trustees of the River Forest Public Library is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Board. This is an exciting time to serve, as the Library is working with an architect to analyze the efficiency of our building ahead of work on a new strategic plan. Serving as a Library Trustee is a great opportunity to give back to your community. The Board will appoint a Trustee to fill an open seat through April 2027.

Trustee responsibilities include establishing policy, hiring and annually evaluating the Director, and approving annual operating and capital budgets. If you are interested in serving on the Library Board of Trustees, please read the full description of Trustee responsibilities here.

The Board has 10 regular meetings per year on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm at the Library. In addition, Trustees serve on one or more of three standing committees which meet as needed. Trustees are expected to review the packet circulated before any Board or committee meeting. Trustees also serve as Directors of the River Forest Public Library Foundation, which has quarterly meetings.

To apply, fill out and submit this application form by Wednesday, April 15:
