River Forest Public Library Foundation
Since 2015, River Forest Public Library Foundation has supported the Library through advocacy, fundraising, and grants. In the face of ever-increasing costs, it is challenging for our excellent Library staff to deliver high quality Library services and maintain its beautiful historic building without additional funds beyond property taxes. You are invited to join us in ensuring our Library continues to connect our community for generations to come.
Liebner Fund
The Dr. Edwin and Mary Liebner Fund was established in 2005 with a $10,000 lead donation from Dr. and Mrs. Liebner and additional gifts to River Forest Public Library from many individual community members and local service groups. Dr. Liebner was a Professor of Radiology at UIC for many years, and his wife Mary Liebner was the steadfast leader and President of the Friends of the River Forest Library for 15 years and an active member for 28 years.
Oak Park River Forest Community Foundation awarded a $20,000 matching grant to the Library. Managed by the Community Foundation, the Liebner Fund is invested and thus able to provide 5% of its balance annually to support the operations of the Library.
