Construction Update

The first phase of our project to add a second program/meeting room to the Library is nearly complete! The new air handler was installed outside and is now circulating wonderfully cooled air throughout the building. The new room has had all mechanical equipment removed and work continues to bring the space up to code for occupancy. The remainder of construction will be done within the room itself, so we were delighted to be able to take down the plastic sheeting in Children’s, opening the space up again for families to enjoy.

Phase one will be complete this September. The new room will be in a “vanilla box” state, meaning it is up to code with plumbing, lighting, and drywall. Phase one also included plumbing and framing work for an ADA-accessible bathroom in the Children’s Room. Phase two will finish the bathroom as well as elements to complete the look and functionality of the room, including paint color, furniture, cabinetry, and technology. The phase two timeline is in development. Thank you for your patience as we are under construction, and we look forward to enjoying the new space with the community.
