Room Renovation Project Coming Soon!

This fall, the Library Board of Trustees voted to accept a bid from Construction Solutions of Illinois to complete the first of a two-phase project to create 400 additional square feet of public space in the Library building. This first phase includes replacing aged air handling equipment with new and more efficient machinery outside of the library building, then bringing the former mechanical room, just off of the Children’s Department, up to code for public use. The second (and most exciting!) phase will complete the room remodel and also construct an ADA accessible bathroom in the space.

The project begins this fall with the construction of an exterior masonry enclosure, designed to match the Library’s façade, for the air handling equipment. The machinery will arrive and be installed this coming spring, and the first phase of the room renovation will begin at that time. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting development!
