Share Your Voice: Take our Community Survey
River Forest Public Library has begun work on a new strategic plan and one of our first steps is to gather community input and ideas. Please share your voice by completing our short survey (8 minutes). Results from this survey will help us set appropriate goals and prioritize funding in ways that make sense for our community.
All members of the household are invited to complete the survey. The survey will be open until October 7.
Paper surveys are also available in the Library at all service desks.
The Library has engaged the services of Amanda Standerfer with Fast Forward Libraries LLC to guide us through the strategic planning process, with the goal of achieving an actionable and impactful strategic plan that meets the current and future needs of our community. Amanda has worked in public, academic, and special libraries since 1998 as a children’s librarian, reference librarian, division head, and director. Since 2002, Amanda has served as a consultant and facilitator, working with libraries, nonprofits, and small businesses on strategic planning, fundraising, organizational development, and capacity building.
In addition to the survey, Amanda will also help facilitate community focus groups, solicit feedback from Library trustees and staff, and analyze data about the library and River Forest community. The information from these different avenues will help develop our next strategic plan. The process is expected to take between 6 and 7 months.
In-person focus groups will be held on Monday, October 3rd. Virtual focus groups will be held on Tuesday, October 11 and Wednesday, October 12. Sign up for a focus group.
We are excited to see where this journey will take us and look forward to sharing more information with you as we move through the process.
