Summer is a great time to unplug and connect with the whole family.  Choose a great book, maybe a classic or maybe your favorite from childhood, to read aloud chapter by chapter throughout the summer and children will:

• continue to associate reading with warm, pleasant feelings
• build new vocabulary since the language of books differs from conversation
• gain exposure to writing styles and authors that they can further explore
• explore social and moral issues alongside their families
