Long-time staff member Joanna Bertucci, Operations Manager, will be leaving the Library to become the Director of Park Ridge Public Library. Joanna has been vital to the Library’s success during her 14-year tenure and her departure will leave some big shoes to fill. Joanna joined RFPL in 2007 as a circulation clerk, while attending Dominican University where she completed her Masters of Library and Information Science. After graduating, she held several positions, including technical services librarian, assistant to the director, and most recently operations manager. She also acted as interim co-director after former Director Sue Quinn’s departure.
In her role as operations manager and interim co-director, Joanna led the library’s Covid-19 response plan, while managing the library’s finances, facility, and day-to-day operations. In partnership with Sue Quinn, she oversaw the library renovation, guided strategic initiatives, managed the Materials Services department, and was responsible for all human resources functions. Her last day will be May 20.
“River Forest has been my adopted home for 14 years. I am grateful for all the opportunities this organization has afforded me and the relationships I have fostered. It has been an honor to be part of and serve the River Forest community.” -Joanna Bertucci
RFPL is incredibly grateful to Joanna’s commitment and contributions to the Library and we wish her all the best in her new position. “I have been visiting the Park Ridge Public Library for many years both as a child and with my own children,” said Joanna, who currently lives in the area. “I am looking forward to making connections with another community of readers and working with the Park Ridge Public Library team.” Congratulations to Joanna on this outstanding achievement. She will be profoundly missed.
