Families with young children are invited to join the new 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at River Forest Public Library. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a nationwide challenge that encourages parents and caregivers to regularly read aloud to their children. By reading just one book a night, families can reach the 1,000-book goal in three years and provide their children with essential early literacy skills. If you read several books a night, you can finish even more quickly!
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is available to all families with children between the ages of birth through five years. You will be able to track your way to 1,000 books on a paper form or through the handy “Beanstack Tracker” app, available on Apple or Android devices. Visit the library to register or click here to begin your reading adventure. If you have any questions, please ask your friendly Children’s Services staff for assistance.
We hope to see you at our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Sign Up Party on February 27th.
