Make Reading a Daily Routine

Build reading into your daily routine. Reading to your child every day helps build a positive association with books and offers a great bonding opportunity. From books before bed to a midday story, make reading time something your child looks forward to every day. Give your child their own books to look at and play with throughout the day. Make it a routine for both of you! When your child sees you reading your own books, their instinct to mimic will make them want to pick a book of their own.
