Saturday, 6/30, 2-3:30 PM, Mary Pickersgill and the Star Spangled Banner

Join author and storyteller, Lynn Rymarz as she steps back in time to tell the story of Mary Pickersgill. Hear the amazing story of how this Baltimore flag maker sewed the flag which flew over Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore against the British in September of 1814. Her flag inspired Francis Scott Key to write the words to the poem that became our National Anthem. Lynn will share historical photographs from this time in our Nation’s history. Brought to you in partnership with the River Forest Township.
