Children Rock with Percussion Instruments

Help your child be an active musician by providing simple percussion instruments such as bells, sticks, shakers, and drums.  Make a drum set with empty boxes and wooden spoons or make a variety of shakers with empty plastic bottles filled with dry beans or rice. Playing with rhythm helps tune the brain’s attention to patterns which are critical for future math and reading skills.  In addition, keeping a beat and handling different instruments helps children develop coordination.  Rock on!
