Committee of the Whole Meeting
Finance
November 28, 2006

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:18 PM.

Roll Call
Trustees present were Mark Coe, Lenny Soffer, Molly Ryan and Margaret Horstman. Director Dawn Bussey was also present.  Trustee Liz Fischer arrived at 7:27 PM.  Trustees Diane Daley and Joan Cusack were excused.

Audience to Visitors, Trustee and Staff Comments
There were no visitors present, and there were no trustee or staff comments.

Consent Docket
Trustee Ryan moved that the minutes from the September 12, 2006 and October 24, 2006 meetings be adopted.  Mr. Coe seconded and all voted aye.

Old Business
The Preliminary Draft of the 2007-2008 Budget was presented. Discussion took place regarding staff salaries, collection development, and maintenance of building and grounds. The need for benchmarks and a compensation philosophy was raised. The need for a balanced budget was reaffirmed.  

New Business
The meeting schedule for the next 2 months was discussed.  Meetings agreed upon were: 

December 12th – Committee of the Whole
December 19th – Regular Meeting
January 3rd- Committee of the Whole
 It was further agreed that all meetings will start at 7:30 PM.

Executive Session
There was no call for executive session.

Adjournment
Ms. Ryan moved that the meeting be adjourned and Mr. Coe seconded, with all voting aye.
