Special Ad Hoc  Committee Meeting Concerning Addressing Patron 
Concerns

August 19, 2004

Call to Order
Committee member Mark Coe called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m. Roll call 
was taken. Present were Ad Hoc Committee members Mr. Coe, Mr. Sher, Mrs. 
Bussey and Mrs. Daly. Board President Ryan and Trustee Fischer were also in 
attendance.

Addressing Public Comments
Mrs. Bussey had given committee members a packet containing several 
examples of how governing boards address patron concerns. The committee 
discussed at length how best to address public comments including those given 
during a board meeting, outside a board meeting to board members, and outside 
a board meeting to the director. Further discussion was held concerning how to 
record the comments, methods by which to respond and follow-up. A status 
report from the committee will be given at the August 2004 Board meeting and a 
full report and proposal will be presented at the September 2004 Board meeting.

Adjournment
At 6:21 p.m. Mr. Sher moved that the meeting be adjourned. Mrs. Daly 
seconded.
