ASK Program Coordinator
Position
at the River Forest Public Library
Job Description: The River Forest Public Library is seeking a creative
and energetic program coordinator for the ASK @ the Library program, a free,
drop-in program serving children in grades 5-8 after school. The goal of the
ASK program is to provide engaging activities and a designated space in the
library for middle school students to enjoy after school. Reporting to and
working with the Head of Young Adult Services, the program coordinator will
create and supervise a friendly, organized setting and assist with homework,
games, crafts, special programs, and library activities.
Full/Part-time Hours: Part-time 10-12 hours per week from 3:00 p.m. to
5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Salary is $12.77 per hour.
Requirements: The coordinator must have experience with and affinity for
working with children and young adults. The coordinator must be able to work
independently and exercise initiative while also able to collaborate effectively
with other library staff, patrons, and external organizations. Technology
skills and the ability to communicate effectively are essential. This is an
ideal position for a student enrolled in an education or library program.
