Try some Tempting Tongue Twisters with your Toddler
Tongue twisters are silly phrases that often produce a lot of fun and laughter. Tongue twisters may seem like play, but young children learn a great deal through play. They serve a practical purpose in practicing pronunciation and developing an awareness of the smaller sounds in words. Try some of the following from easy to more difficult:
*I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
*Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear. Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair. Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn’t very fuzzy, was he?
Mix a box of mixed biscuits with a boxed biscuit mixer.
*Betty Botter had some butter, “But,” she said, “this butter’s bitter. If I bake this bitter butter, it would make my batter bitter. But a bit of better butter – that would make my batter better.”
